Have you ever wanted to have a go at playing the djembe drum or maybe do some African dancing?
Well here is your chance!

Hartbeats Vitae Drummers play West African djembe and dundun rhythms. The group is led by Justine Hart who also runs workshops for schools, events, team building, private parties and community organisations.
Hartbeats African Drumming & Dancing Performance + Taster Workshops on 26th March:
This event opens with a performance by Hartbeats Vitae Drummers at 3 pm. Justine will then provide djembes for you to take turns in groups to participate in a taster workshop. You’ll get to drum with her group!

If that wasn’t exciting enough, the amazing Moses Mutiso will be leading some African dancing. Moses is originally from Kenya, East Africa but also knows dance moves for West African drumming as well as Kenyan dance styles (plus hip hop and Zumba too!).
You can join in the drumming and / or the dancing or just watch.
No experience necessary and it is open to children and adults.

The dancing will be adapted for first timers so no need to don your gym / workout garb but do feel free to wear something you can move in. It is also easier drum in trousers because the djembe sits between your knees. Take rings off or ask for some tape to prevent damaging the drum skins or fingers.
The Petri Dish is a cafe as well as a music and workshop venue and will be serving their extensive range of hot and cold drinks and cakes too (no meals at the moment).

If you are not able to attend this event, why not try an evening class? Justine’s classes have been running in Bucks for 25 years. You’ll be joining a friendly community group as well as doing something fun and musical.
Wednesdays in Kimble, near Aylesbury or Tuesdays in High Wycombe.
There might be other classes starting up so do email justine@hartbeats.co.uk to find out more.
