Bristol Salsa Orchestra, is the fruit of a project conceived by its manager, the Guatemalan entrepreneur, cultural promoter and director of “Bristol Salsa Congress” William Velazquez, and also by its director, the Cuban trumpet player, composer, musical director, producer and pedagogue, Michel Padron.
Between their desires, longings and determination, they have been conceiving for more than three years the sound and rhythmic paths of this Salsa Orchestra, created in Bristol, United Kingdom; where it is already known that a melting pot of cultures from more than fifty nationalities meets.
With the deserved reputation that the city of Bristol has in the British and international music scene, and with an already large Hispanic community, an orchestra of these qualities was long been missing, which is why William and Michel, in the last three years, have given strength to a musical project that has the identity that a city like this deserves.
Bristol Salsa Orchestra is a band formed by the best musicians in the city, such as Maestro Jim Blomfield, one of the most renowned exponents of the piano in the jazz scene in the country, Ricardo “Piki” Fernandez (lead vocalist of ASERE, Salsa Celtica and other reputable bands in the Latin/European universe), and with musicians in high demand for their quality and versatility such as Jon Clark on timbales, Jason Gaines on Congas, Julian Segura on Bass, Jonny Bruce on trumpet, Ivan Moreno on lead vocals and Craigh Crofton on Saxophone; all of them under the direction of Michel Padrón on trumpet.
With the release of their first single with the song “Dime si te Gusta”, composed by Ricardo “Piki” Fernandez, this Bristolian Orchestra has been on all the digital platforms, and although it is their first release they are already starting to receive orders and digital downloads of the song in Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, USA, UK, Spain, Australia, etc.
